Program Description
The Passport2College program is offered by DeVry University for high school students interested in earning college credits in business and technology.
If you are a high school junior or senior with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, you are eligible to apply for one of these tuition awards.
A college education is essential in today's high-tech fast paced world. Our college courses are a great first step toward achieving this goal. DeVry courses provide you with high quality, hands-on instruction. DeVry is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association.
Additional Information
- The program covers tuition only.
- Students are responsible for the cost of textbooks and materials.
- Students have the opportunity to use DeVry labs, library, and tutoring services.
- Students must register on the DeVry campus by registration deadline.
- Classes are available at two of the Colorado locations: Westminster and Colorado Springs.
- Classes start every 8 weeks, starting July 7, 2008.
- Each class is 8 weeks long.
- Students must have a verified cumulative grade point of at least 3.0 and may be required to take a pre-qualifying DeVry-administered placement examination.
- Class space is limited. Enrollment is based on registration, not on application.
- Two years of high school algebra is highly recommended.

BUSN 115 - Introduction to Business and Technology
This course introduces business and the environment in which businesses operate. Students examine the major functional areas of business and interrelationships among them. Organizational theories and techniques are examined, and economics, cultural, political and technological factors affecting business organizations area evaluated.

COMP - 129 PC Hardware and Software with Lab
This course explores PC systems from software, hardware operating system points of view. Hardware topics include system boards, processors, memory, power supplies, input/output (I/O) ports, internal adapters, printers and basic networking devices. Software topics include client/sever operating systems and installation, as well as licensing software applications.

MATH - 144 College Algebra
This course focuses on topics such as basic treatment of algebraic expressions, solving linear equations and inequalities, graphing linear equations and inequalities, polynomial operations, positive and negative integral exponents, factoring, systems of linear equations, radical and rational expressions, quadratic equations and various application problems. Eligibility to enroll in the course is based on placement results, or successful completion of MATH-092 or MATH-102.

COLL - 148 Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
This course provides a foundation for understanding, predicting and direction behavior. Organized within a framework encompassing foundations, general topics and applications, the course provides an understanding of how psychological principles and concepts relate to professional and personal life. Topics include learning, attitude formation, personality, social influence, dynamics of communication, conflict resolution, motivation, leadership, and group roles and processes.

NETW 202 - Introduction to Networking with Lab
This course introduces the underlying technology of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) and the Internet. Topics include networking media, the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model, transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP), an overview of routing and switching, and small network configuration and troubleshooting. Students prepare and test cabling and become familiar with protocol analyzers.

NETW 204 - Introduction to Routing with Lab
This course introduces router configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting; routing protocols; and use of access control lists (ACLs) as a traffic management tool. Students gain command-line interface (CLI) knowledge and configure local and wide area networks with routers. In addition, students apply the transmission control protocol/Internet protocol (TCP/IP) suite of commands and ACLs to real networks under troubleshooting and traffic management scenarios. Prerequisite: NETW-202
